HYDERABAD: Perhaps reflecting the changing realities in Muslim society, the city on Friday welcomed four youngest 'muftia' (women mufti) in the world. The 17-year-olds are amongst the 10 women who were declared passed and graduated as 'muftia' by the Jamiat-ul-Mominath, a deemed university in Hyderabad which conducts mufti and religious courses for women.
'Muftias' interpret Shariat for Muslim men and women in their personal matters. They resolve family disputes and issue fatwas.
